Registration: iz-d2mcm.contact@hu-berlin.de by 04.02.2025
Our project management approaches in academia are shaped by the unique culture of collaboration, the research cycle, and the guidelines set by the academic community and our university, including good scientific practice, research data policies, and university IT infrastructure. This workshop aims to address these specific aspects and discuss how project management methods can be tailored to the academic context. Additionally, it will showcase the IT infrastructure and services provided by Humboldt University Berlin to support project planning and control. In this workshop, we provide an opportunity to enhance your collaboration in projects and teams through practical application of project management methods.
In this workshop, we will discuss a methodological example of a DFG-funded data project in the humanities, social sciences, and cultural studies in a first part for project planning and in a second part for project management. The following topics will be covered:
- Fundamental concepts in project management: project, objectives, milestones, tasks, workflows, team, and roles
- Designing and implementing scientific project structures
- Managing research data in project planning and management
- HU IT infrastructure for team organization, project management, and documentation, as well as HU’s offerings for further training and advisory services
